Entrance Doors

The Altherm range of formal entrance doors are an elegant combination of design sense and commonsense.

Classic Doors

Classic Collection doors are clad in aluminium for stability and low maintenance and their composition of glazed and solid panels bordered by elegant mouldings create a wonderful impression.

Hassle Free

Classic doors don't swell, shrink and warp the way that some timber doors do, especially when exposed to damp weather conditions, so jamming and sticking are minimised.

No Painting

Because they come already powder coated in the colour of your choice, Classic doors don't require painting or surface finishing. This saving on labour and on-going maintenance needs to be considered when deciding on your Classic door investment.

Design Choices

A wide range of Classic door designs are available including arched-top glass panels and combinations of solid and glazed rectangular panels in traditional and timeless designs.

Sidelights

Sidelights and overlights can enhance the look of your door, with sidelights being either fixed or opening to create a wide, French door effect when desired.

Timber Doors

Altherm aluminium profiles can also be used to frame timber doors. When this is done sidelights or overlights can be included in standard formats or as exciting architectural features. Discuss the supply and fitting of a timber door with your Altherm fabricator.

Hinged Doors

Many options are available to choose from with Altherm hinged doors. Glass treatments and the aluminium profiles themselves can be varied according to personal taste.

Rail Choice

Narrow rails can be used at top or bottom for a lean, understated look, or wide or extra-wide profiles are available for a chunkier, more solid appearance.

Glazing Styles

Doors can be in full height glass or with vision rails across the door at handle height. Colonial or decorative glazing bars can also be applied to the glass for a more interesting effect.

Tradition

Altherm have shunned mitred corners in favour of more traditional and pleasing square cuts.

Frame Choice

Open-in or open-out doors are available to allow the best choice according to door position and personal preference. On open-out doors the Altherm rail design at the top of the door means that drainage and weatherproofing is assured.

French Doors

Altherm offers French doors that combine aesthetics with real features that have made these the designer's natural choice.

Clean Profiles

Strong, imposing profiles stand clean and unmarred by grooves and external glazing wedges.

Smooth Faces

The smooth clean lines of Altherm doors are further enhanced by the flush face where French doors meet. Rebated meeting stiles mean that there are no unsightly stick-on weather beads.

Rail Choice

As with hinged doors, Altherm French doors offer a choice of rail widths, with narrow rails possible at the top and wide or extra-wide profiles at the bottom for the classic French door look.

Hidden Bolts

The concern for design simplicity means that flush bolts are kept off the inside face of the door - they're hidden in the leading edge of the door stile.

Parliament Hinges

Open-out French doors can be hung on parliament hinges which allows doors to open a full 180 degrees and avoid fouling on the exterior cladding.

BI-FOLD Doors

Sweeping views and welcome breezes can be yours with wide-opening Altherm Bi-folding doors. Altherm have a smooth running, reliable Bi-fold system that copes easily with any opening span from the small to the breathtakingly wide.

Confident Operation

Because the Bi-folding doors have a bottom-rolling system to carry the door weight they can be used with confidence in any situation without fear of jamming up.

Matching Profiles

The Bi-fold door rails and stiles are the same as for hinged and French doors, making for a seamless continuity when different door types are used in the same house.

Strong Frame

Not only are the door panel members notable for their strength and substance but the Altherm Bi-fold frame is a box section extrusion as well, which means that it's more than adequate for the most demanding situation.

Configuration Choices

A range of configurations are available including even or uneven panel numbers. The incorporation of a hinged door option allows for easy exit or entry without opening up the Bi-folds.

Slining Doors

The smooth operation of Altherm sliding doors makes them a pleasure to open and close. They strike just the right balance between solidity and mobility.

Special Rollers

Special high performance rollers at the bottom of the doors ensure that even heavy panels, such as double glazed units, glide effortlessly.

Secure Glazing

All Altherm sliding doors are pocket glazed for maximum security.

Double Slider

In addition to standard sliding door formats, Altherm have a double slider available where two sliding panels sit within a frame and either can be moved. This gives the homeowner maximum flexibility in choice of egress or entry.

Unobtrusive Drainage

As with our hinged and French door frame, the Altherm sliding door frame has been designed so that drainage holes are tucked away unobtrusively.

Twin Sliders

Altherm twin sliders link the indoors and outdoors in grand style by opening to two-thirds of their width.

Stacking Panels

Unlike standard sliding doors which can only open to half their width, twin sliders stack out of the way behind a third fixed panel to offer that extra exposure to the outside.

Two Options

They come as either three-panel units with two stacking doors, or as six-panel units which offer even more glorious opening opportunities. In the six-panel format two doors stack towards one jamb and two stack towards the other, creating a panoramic central opening.

Weatherproof

A unique frame drainage design gives the sill high capacity drainage to copy with exposed environments - with no unsightly holes showing on the exterior.
